My 1 day experience in CCU

As for sem2 , we got chance to enter CCU, which is coronary care unit. According to wikipedia, CCU s a hospital ward specialized in the care of patients with heart attacks, unstable angina, Cardiac dysrhythmia and various other cardiac conditions that require continuous monitoring and treatment.

Okay, most of my frens enter CCU will say it sucks! haha,, because the staff nurse very very fierce,  and the patients looks critical which we'll have no idea wad to do at all.. For me, it's kinda bored la, cauz no handsome doctors.. haha.. juz kiddin.. =P

The CCU juz got 2 room, 1 on the right, 1 on the left hand side, every room consists only 4 patient, 1 staff nurse take care of 2 patient.. out of the 8 beds, 7 occupied, 4 male and 3 female.. the CCU room just mixed up all male and female, but of course, the space between the beds are wide enough.. and yea, it's FULLY AIR-COND!!! me likey.. xD

haha.. seriously la, i'm kinda lucky today, the staff nurse that guide me is a very very nice young lady, she teaches me lots of stuff.. =D and and and, i got chance to see fresh MI ( ppl juz suffer from myocardial infarction).. can study case larh.. =)

and got chance to see doctor do femoral catheter to a patient that need go dialysis..  

CCU's observation chart really 1 big piece, almost like the size of the skul table ady.. haha.. and the weird stuff is do ECG in the ward use sterile water, water is another kind of conductor, not a big problem la, but, for patients which got lots of chest hair, really very hard..the lead keep falling off, until like pek chek ady.. ( normally we use ECG gel )

haha.. this is one of the fail ECG.. xD


anyway, nice experience in CCU.. =) Thank God for that..

Diet pills? o.O

Today is my first day in 6B (female medical ward), my last ward, which is 8B (female surgical ward) is such a disaster, i would not like to blog about it.. haha..

okay, back to the topic, I'm in charge of the acute cubicle today (yea, some one did pass away today, asystole.. >.<) that's not the point.. haha..

erm.. there was this 1 old malay lady, in her fifties, she was swelling with red spots for her whole body, (allergic la.. )wan touch also scared.. and the worst part is her mouth, swelling, sorry to say, really like sausage and with pus on her lips(nanah..!!!!) She cant even eat stuff and swallow, really really pity..

Causes of these are diet pills, she took diet pills then her body become like that..

Due to patient's privacy, cant take picca.. but hereby warning to all girls, wanna eat diet pills? wan a fast way to slim down? WHERE GOT SUCH THING SO NICE?? PLEASE THINK LA.. tq.. :)

heartless??

There's this patient in the ward admitted because of suicide case.. He drank dunno wad poison (forgot ady >.< ) for 500ml, even the staff nurses in the ward amazes that he can still live..
I was working morning shift but the patient admitted in the afternoon. that's my second day of practical..

I only met that patient the next day, and he was transferred from acute cubicle to cubicle C (which not so serious one ). That patient sure give me a big head, he's walking everywhere and refuse to rest properly. He even tried to abscond, make everyone busy looking for him.. I dunno where he went but later on he came back with super dirty clothes and smells really bad..

The staff nurses forced him to go bathe and he's just too DEGIL. I tried to give him clean clothes to wear but he keep saying : nantilah, nantilah.. and lastly throw a tantrum.. HELLO?! he's really dirty la..

then let it be lo...

I took his observation at bout 12pm lydat and realize that his blood pressure was extremely low but heart rate super fast, I informed to the staff nurse and doctor follow him up later.

He was change back to acute cubicle later on at 1 something and then i went back..

the next day, I go to work and realize his bed was empty..

Later on only knew that he passed away yesterday. His family agree that let him die without even using CPR. I cant believe this, they actually just allow him to die without even wanna try when there's enough facilities around.The doctors just have to honour the families decision. and then his brother claimed that they always quarrel.

always quarrel? SO WHAT? both of you belongs to the same family dont you? His life must be bitter as i mentioned he admitted because of suicide case..

I really feel bad for him.. people like this do we call them 冷血动物？Let him die then everything can solve? I dun even noe whether he feel guilty or not..

i really dunno how to title my this blog.. =X

after so long i finally rewrite my blog, it's my 2nd day practical in 7B male medical ward, and the 2nd day of my practical in sem2.. sem2 is really kinda stress and there are really A LOT of procedures that need to do..

SO, today i start off with dressing, care of i/v drip and super simple one, off branula.. (branula is the needle kind of thing that poke into ur skin for iv drip one, off branula basically means take out the whole thing, off drip.)

i'm in charge in cubicle C which today got erm.. 5 patients discharge.. 3 of them discharge at the same time, i was kinda busy taking observations that time, everyone is kinda busy so i have to cover the cubicle C's observation all by myself..
then got 1 staff nurse ask me to off branula for the 3 of them, i think i didnt listen clearly, then I PULLED THE WRONG PATIENT'S BRANULA OUT!!

seriously, i feel super guilty, that poor patient need to be inserted the whole thing once again.. =( ( but luckily the patient's other hand got connected to syringe pump for noradrenaline, then we juz join another tube for i/v.. pheww.. if not....)

i didnt get scolded la, patient also very good, didnt say anything, juz smile and say tak apa tak apa..

gosh, i really really need to be extra careful next time!!

maybe many of u dun understand wad i typed up there, haha..!! nvm la, for those who understand la.. =P

Be tough!

Life is always full of unexpected things..
well.. i'm now working in ward 2B which is female orthopedic..
there was this diabetic patient which already amputate her left foot who has a daughter which is deaf and dumb.. but she daughter is always so cheerful and full of joy which has the ability to make ppl feel happy..
I didnt enter the ward for past 5 days as i'm having revision class in my college.. that sunday i entered the ward at bout 1.45pm.. not long after that a patient collapse, which is like SUDDENLY.. i peep through the curtains and realise it was the woman and then i saw her daughter sobbing not very far from there..
i was busy with my work and i left the acute cubicle but i can see from far the doctors are trying their best to save that woman..
but sadly, really sadly, the woman pass away not more an hour..
the woman's relative came and i can seriously say they dun visit her when she's alive.. only her daughter is so faithfully coming everyday to clean and feed her mum..
after giving time for them to mourn, we are suppose to do LO for the dead.. i can hear the brokenness and the heart break weep outside the curtain..
that gal must be very very sad.. all the while she got only her mum and that's what makes her live on.. i couldnt do anything but gently tap on her shoulders.
i know i may not meet her anymore but i really wanna say, be tough! your life still have a long way to go.. God bless you..

sesat journey to port dickson and some other stuff in my college..

YES!! I do went to Port Dickson although now is only my third week here.. so fast ryte?? Still remember the day when we ( me and a malay gal) came back from PD, we told everyone that we go PD to see sunset.. well, here's the true story:

me and farah ( the malay gal) finish shopping in terminal 1, and then we wanted to go back ady.. the bus didnt stop at the exactly bus stop we came, it stop at the opposite road.. i wanted to press the bell and go down ady, then my fren say no need be so kin chiong la.. wait the bus stop at that exactly bus stop first.. then the bus keep going and going and going.. and then we get nervous, i go and aske the bus driver, GREAT! WE ALMOST REACH PORT DICKSON.. after about 1 hour on the bus.. then, we reach PD, no mood to really go see the sunset also.. switched bus back to seremban town.. and got scold by the bus driver.. >.< he said we pay 1 buck but reach PD, he rugi lah.. ish.. so not bertimbang rasa de.. then we pay 4 bucks for the journey back.. it's actually very cheap la.. and so, we spend 2 hours on the bus!! feeling nausea.. @.@

haha.. end of the PD trip, let's talk about my class schedule..
we only got 3 period per day.. nice ryte?? but our classes are from 8am to 5pm every weekdays.. yeng leh.. it's super TIRED!!
1st period:8-10am
2nd period: 10.30-12.30pm
3rd period: 2-5pm
and for tuesday and thursday:
5.30-6.30pm got sukan!!!
Monday Wednesday Friday
8.15-10.15pm got english class!!
everyday so packed and so many things to study~

My college life

haha.. i cried the first day i enter the college.. i cant believe it.. all malays..!!
i cant mix in and i always feel lonely even right now..

but now i'm slowly adapt to it..

no pics cauz there's something wrong with the bluetooth.. haha..

hmm.. here, it's a bit like my st. john memory.. u see senior, u gotta ucap.. which i feel kinda weird.. and i dun used to call everyone KAKAK..!! but it'sa good practice lah.. makes u respect your senior..

there are 6 major and 1 elective paper u need to take..
1. Health Science 1
2. Health Science 2
3. Behavioral Science 1
4. Nursing Science 1
5. Nursing Science 2
6. Professional practice 1 ( which is working in the hospital!!)

elective:
-English..
say nia elective, everyone is wajib.. =.= seriously i'm lazy to attend la..

oh ya.. and we study psychology.. but sadly it's in malay.. other subjects are in english though.. =)


there are 4 ppl in each room the bed are all double decker.. no stairs to climb.. so for me, i only climb up and down once the whole day.. which is before sleep and after i woke up.. but there's one cool thing, inside every room, there's another small room - the study room.. haha..at least if u wan to study till late at night u dun disturb others ma..

my rommie are all malays.. all 19 years old, which makes me the youngest..
1 is my batch the other 2 is the second semester senior..which they give us lots of idea and suggestion.. they are really good person.. and i thank God for them.. =)


hmm.. the food.. me no likey..! it taste weird and it's very hot..
and we need to pay for it everyday:
breakfast- RM1.50
lunch- RM3.00
dinner-RM3.00
but.. we dun have to wash our cups and plates after meals.. =) hahaha..

here.. it's like NS, roll call every night.. SWEAT!


got the text books 2 days ago, VERY VERY THICK BOOKS..
and ukur badan for the uniform yesterday..
class will officially start TOMORROW.. =D
and.. ORIENTATION is finally OVER!!!!! ^^


i need to strive hard to achieve good results.. and i want to be different..

still got lots of stuff.. hopefully can write next time.. xD
